on 22 June 2013

A software package is a collection of some related software that are used to perform a specific type of job.

Microsoft Office is an example of software package. It contains various software like MS Word, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel etc.

Usually, a package manager is used to install a software package containing various options about the different software and we can also specify which software we want to install from the software package.
