Hardware and Software are like Two Sides of a Coin

on 24 June 2013

It is said that software and hardware are like two sides of a coin. Why it is said so? They are said to be two sides of the same coin to convey the meaning that they both are inter-dependent.

Hardware is useless without software and vice versa. Hardware and software are two components which makes a computer. Without these two components we can't imagine a computer.

For example, without the driver of a hardware and OS kernel (a program which directly interacts with the hardware) we cannot use hardware. Similarly, without the processor and a memory it is impossible for a software to run.

Thus, hardware and software are like two sides of a coin.
